Kunming: brief description for tourists who wish to visit Kunming Kunming is one the most famous tourist destination in Yunnan Province. Kunming is a pleasant town located in the central part of Yunnan on the Guizhou Plateau, at 1900 m altitude. It is the capital of Yunnan province and borders Burma, Laos and Vietnam. Kunming is also known as the "City of Eternal Spring" due to a pleasant climate and rich vegetation of trees, plants and flowers that covers Kunming all the year round. All areas of the city are decorated with over 300 kinds of flowers and plants. The weather in Kunming belongs to subtropical plateau monsoon climate, it is not very cold in winter and not very hot in summer, the annual average temperature is about 18 degrees. One of the main tourist events is the Kunming International Festival, taking between April and May, a festival full of color and joy, which involve also tourists dressed in traditional costumes. The main attraction in the Kunming's neighbourhood is the Yunnan Stone Forest often described as 'First Wonder of the World'. The tourist attractions ar very numerous: Dianchi Lake, the Sleeping Buddha Hills, the Golden Temple (the largest copper temple in China), Buddhist Qiongzhu Temple (Bamboo Temple), the Bamei Village, the Daguan Park, the Yuantong Temple and a many more.
