Liupanshui: brief description for tourists who wish to visit Liupanshui Liupanshui is located at the I, II terrace slopes of Yunnan, Guizhou plateau and west of Guizhou province, lying at 25°19'44" to 26°55'33" north latitude and 104°18'20" to 105°42'50" longitude. Total area of Liupanshui is 9926 sq. km, taking up 5.63% of the gross area of the province. Its urban area is close to Anshun district in the east, autonomus region of Buyi Nationality and Miao Nationality in the southwest of Guizhou in the south, Qujing city in Yunnan in the west, and Bijie district in the north. Dawan town, Ertang village and Sanhe village in Zhongshan district are located in the southwest of Bijie district.
Structure of landform in the urban areas is classified into the platformal fold belt in upper Yangtze region of Yangtze paraplatform, with the highest position in Jiucai ping, Ertang village of Zhongshan district, which rises 2900.3m from sea level and also the highest location in terms of sea level in Guizhou province; the lowest position is in Beipanjiang river valley, Maokou village of Liuzhi special district, which rises 586m from sea level, marking 2314.3m in height difference. Geomorphology mainly features mountainous terrain and hilly ground while including terrain types like basin, peak plain, plateau and terrace.
Soil type mainly features eight primary types as yellow soil, yellow and brown soil of mountainous terrain, bush and meadow soil of mountainous terrain, limestone soil, purple soil, rice paddy soil, moistness soil and marsh soil, with 24 subtypes, 74 soil genus, and 141 soil types. Area of soil takes up 9,930,300 acreages, and makes up 62.74% of total land areas. The yellow soil, domestic zonality type, possesses 4,223,200 acreages, taking up 50.62% of total soil area. |
