West Lake

Hupao Spring (Tiger Running Spring)
Hupao Spring is known for its beauty as well as water quality. Sitting high on the mountains between West Lake and Qiantang River, the spring offers the opportunity to view beautiful landscape. The spring is also known as “Tiger Running Spring” due to some famous legend. The water of the spring is mineral rich because it comes from a quartz stone. People from other cities of China come here to have a sip of Longjing tea made from the water of this spring.
The Six Harmonies Pagoda
One of the most attractive ancient structures, The Six Harmonies Pagoda has aroused the imagination of hundreds of poets and scribes. Located in the side of the Qiantang River, the structure was built during Northern Song Dynasty by Qianhongchu, King of Wuyue in 970. Standing high at 150 meters, the pagoda has nine storeys and is counted among the tallest pagodas in Southern China. It is regarded as the symbol of harmony in opposite powers such as east and west. It also serves as the lighthouse for the vessels passing through the river. Octagonal in shape, it has 7 interior levels and 13 exterior levels. The walls of Pagoda are carved with various ancient figure so f humans, birds, animals and more.
Lingyin Temple
Hangzhou is home to many Buddhist temples and monasteries. Out of all, the most renowned is “Lingyin Si”?temple that is also called “Soul’s Retreat.” The temples houses the China’s largest sitting Buddha, glistening in gold. Moreover, the temple was once home to more than 3000 monks.
Qian Dao Lake (Thousand Islets Lake)
Counted among the top national scenic spots in China, the Qian Dao Lake is located at about 160 kilometers west of Hangzhou City. A must-visit spot, it has biggest forest parks in China. The lake is the youngest artificial lake, constructed as part of Xin’an River Water power Plant in 1959. It got its name from 1,078 islets present in the lake. The entire environment of the lake offers a unique experience because of different geological oddities making it special.
