Qingdao (also known as Tsingtao) is a beautiful city located on Shandong Peninsula, between Yellow Sea and Jiaozhou Bay. The city has about 4,5 million inhabitants and it is developed partly in the mainland (Peninsula) and partly in its numerous islands. Qingdao is famous for being one of the Chinese cities with the highest standard of living. The commercial seaport of Qingdao is the largest of the whole area. The city is also very active in international trade. Tsingtao Beer is the most famous of all Chinese beers and can be found in all Chinese restaurants in the world. Well known is the Qingdao Haiwan Bridge, with its 42.4 km length is the longest bridge on the sea in the world. The Qingdao International Beer Festival is a festival very popular with tourists and is held every year from August 13 to August 29.
