Lvliang: brief description for tourists who wish to visit Lvliang Located in the middle and west of Shanxi Province, facing Yulin city of Shaanxi province across the Yellow River to the west, connecting to Taiyuan city (capital of Shanxi province) to the northeast, bordering with the Jinzhong and Linfen cities in the east and southeast respectively, the prefecture was abolished and changed into Lvliang city which was approved by the State Council on Oct. 23rd 2003.
The prefecture-level city is composed of two county-level cities, ten counties and one district with a population of 3,470,000 covering an area of 21,095 square kms.
Resources: coal, iron, bauxite, refractory clay, coal-bed methane, alta-mud, violet sand clay, graphite, granite, and so on.
