Guilin (population about 2 million) is located at south China, in the northeast area of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Many tourists say that Guilin is one of the most beautiful places in the world. The history stretches back to over 2,000 years. The place was built by Emperor Quingshihuang in 214 BC. The place has two waterways that connect the central china and the south china. Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge
This is a beautiful land that comprises of a beautiful bridge that has been built with the most stunning architecture and the design is simply incredible to believe. The structure lies proudly on the river with majestic drum tower make an excellent view from the benches provided on the bridge at both the ends. One can pause and rest and devour the beauty that the Chengyang wind and rain bridge has to offer. You can see plenty of tea trees along the side with country side view that has framers going about their daily work. Yangzhou Shangri-la
The place is located near the Guiyang road and is around 49 km from Guilin and has Yangzhou around 15 km. The place is charming and offers incomparable beauty. Shangri-la has stunning local locations, with some of the most fascinating buildings and people that follow traditional folk customs that are worth watching. One can explore the place either in a boat or on foot. Boat will help you experience the way the people lived here and enjoyed the folk customs. While the road can offer you glimpses of minority buildings along with the Chengyang wind and Rain Bridge, totem that can show you glimpses of tradition.
Li-river
What can we say about the Li-river - it is the soul of Guilin and boosts of magnificent scenery all along the river. It is 160 km long and has 3 very beautiful spots that are no to be missed. The very first place that will enthrall you is Ox Gorge. Here you can see the villages, towns and other fantastic views like the waters and the mountains that should be seen to be believed. The second place is the Rocky Mountains that flank the river. The third spot can give you incredible view of water dropping village and many other attractions.
Elephant trunk hill
This is another attraction lying on the banks of LI-river. The hill has taken the shape of an elephant and is worth having a look at it. This is very scenic spot and is also the main attraction of Guilin. Here you will also find 9.5 meters of cave that is 12 meters in height and is a great natural marvel.
Two rivers and four lakes
The place is a creation of Li-river, wooden dragon lake, Shan lake, peach flower river, Rong Lake and the Gui Lake. This exotic place is a project that has been created to connect two rivers and the four lakes and thus forms waterway network around the city.
