Fenghua was set up into a counrty in 738(i.e.the 26th year of Emperor Kaiyuan of the Tang Danasty) and changed the counry into city in 1988 in administration.Fenghua City located in the south wing of the Yangtze River Delta and the coastal of the East China Sea, mountain as pillow and seashore as neighbour, usually called as " the Back Garden of Zhedong", now planned in one of " the Ningbo Metropolis Ecological Organic Group Zones" . Fenghua' s total land area covers 1, 249 sqkm, its sea area covres 96 sqkm, governing 6 towns and 5 residential districts, with a population of 490, 000.
