Suzhou has some parts of it described as Water Township which still retains old world buildings and a similar existence. There are some water townships and all are different from other in their nature. It is not Venice but has a different appeal in their unique character and ancient atmosphere.

The silk capital of China is a more fitting name for it and not visiting the producing facilities is a criminal offence as it is one of the most remarkable things in the world. The silk museum is one of the examples of past glory and present pride of Suzhou. There are many sections in the museum to take the visitor through different aspects of Chinese silk, from fabric to weaving and commercial qualities that are demonstrated. The museum is a beautiful place with careful maintenance and well-conceived beauty.
