Hangzhou: brief description for tourists who wish to visit Hangzhou
Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province, has a population of about 9 million people. Hangzhou is famous for its natural landscapes and its historic heritages. It is located in Hangzhou Bay, 180 km southwest of Shanghai. From here it is easy to reach Shanghai, it takes less than two hours by train. Hangzhou has been one of the most renowned and prosperous cities of China for much of the last 1,000 years. It was also the largest city in the world from 1200 to 1350, joining to 2 million inhabitants. Nowadays it is still a beautiful city, neat and clean, a 'garden-city' with a lot of green, with a lot of manicured gardens, as well as the beautiful landscapes of the West Lake. Hangzhou is much loved by tourists (Chinese and foreigners): in fact are arriving more than 20 million visitors every year. The hotels are numerous (many of recent construction) beautiful and well-organized. Hangzhou attractions: Yingzhou Isle (Three Pools Mirroring the Moon), Solidary Hill And Zhongshan Park, Six Harmonies Pagoda, Lingyin Temple, Jade Emperor Hill, the memorial of Loyal General Yue Fei. For golf lovers there is also a wonderful meeting place: The West Lake Golf Club, near Six Harmonies Pagoda.
